As some may know from following me on Facebook, I have signed up for the Tufts Health Plan 10K with my sister this fall. I will be posting a blog about them in the next day or so and am excited to share their awesome event with everyone! I have run cross-country since I was young with my mom and dad, both avid runners. Like many other dedicated runners may tell you, running acts as therapy and exercise. Despite my love for hitting the street or trails, it can be difficult to get your energy up! That’s why I have partnered with SToK™ to share my energizing pre-run snack.

Staying Energized With SToK™

A simple tip that will, surprisingly to some, keep your energy up during the day is… staying hydrated. That’s right, water can and will do wonderful things for your body. A lack of water can leave you feeling drained of energy and sluggish during the day. I love drinking coffee which makes H20 important for hydration! Water, however, does not have caffeine and will likely have no effect on your energy if it’s already down.

That’s where the coffee comes in

It’s first thing in the morning. What do I do? Pour a cup of coffee.

I’m about to step out for an outdoor adventure. What do I do? Pour a cup of coffee.

I need energy for my upcoming run. What do I do? Pour a cup of coffee.

When I experience any of the above I reach for a refreshing helping of coffee.

The best part about SToK™ is you can take it with you! If I’m going hiking, I’ll throw it in my backpack. If I’m running on location, I’ll have it packed in the car. The packaging makes it super convenient to carry around without worrying about it breaking. Plus, it is totally photo worthy!

A true runner knows what makes them feel great before and after a run and, for me, SToK™ just works. It is one of the coffees that leaves me feeling energized without a crash and is smooth to drink. I know what foods and drinks agree with me before I head out.

My favorite + fueled pre-run snack:

  1. Half of a Banana
  2. 1 TBSP Nut Butter
  3. Raw Almonds
  4. Sliced Strawberries
  5. 8 to 12oz. SToK™ Coffee

I am always swapping the type of nuts and fruit I snack on, but bananas, coffee, and nut butter are staples on my pre-run checklist.

Where to find SToK™ on a shopping trip at Walmart

If you head into Walmart to find SToK, you will find it in the grocery section with bottled beverages including juices, iced teas, and other coffees. In the two Walmart’s near me it is located at the far end of the grocery section (the last aisle). This is typically where they place the beverages and is where I start my grocery shopping!
