The Whaler’s Inn | Where You Want To Stay In Mystic, CT

When The Whaler’s Inn reached out about a New England destination I had yet to visit I was all over it! Aside from Mystic Pizza, I didn’t know much about visiting the quaint town of Mystic, Connecticut. Finding new spots less than 2 hours away means new weekend spots and short trip destinations. Mystic is accessible via the Amtrak, I-95, ferries from Long Island, etc.

The Whaler’s Inn is located directly outside of Downtown Mystic making it super convenient to walk wherever you want to go and for all the food you’re going to eat. Paul and I only got in the car once to find a sports bar the front desk recommended to watch the Pats game (because #priorities).

Speaking of the front desk… the ladies at the front desk were so kind and helpful. They made recommendations on places to eat, where to go, and didn’t even get upset when we came flying through the door soaking wet from the rain. You can pick up a cup of coffee to warm up (after the downpour), grab a cookie, and even grab beer & wine between certain hours.

The interiors throughout The Whaler’s Inn looked brand spankin’ new. The shop downstairs had the cutest trinkets you could take home for friends & family or for yourself; especially the sailors knot wine stoppers! It really was such a pleasant atmosphere to the point where you could lounge in there for a bit before heading back to your room.

I have never stayed at an Inn that felt so much like home. The room was so cozy and had all the amenities you likely won’t find at other overnight spots. Between the jacuzzi-style tub, fancy bed post, artwork, and fireplace I was about ready to unpack my bags move in.

The Whaler’s Inn is hospitality perfection

Of course our room was also stocked with the necessities: a stack of coastal-inspired books, Peet’s Coffee, and Sleepytime Tea. The books were one of my favorite ‘complimentary’ features because I am a major bookworm when I’m on vacay. If I was there for more than one day you can bet I would have made it through at least one!

The way they section off the rooms is in houses so we stayed in the Hoxie House. They were all very pleasant and shared a common parking lot which was convenient if you are looking to drive in. Their Library Room, just off the parking lot, was adorable and perfect for bringing your coffee and getting some work done.
