Fall at The Whaler’s Inn | Mystic, CT πŸ‹

Two years later… something about the sweet town of Mystic, Connecticut was calling us back. We had first visited in the fall of 2018 and had a wonderful weekend of relaxation at The Whaler’s Inn. So, you know we were very happy and grateful when their team welcomed us back to celebrate our 9-year anniversary.

If you are from Boston or cities surrounding, Mystic is less than a 3-hour drive. It is a short trip on I-95 or you can pick up the Amtrak which stops at the center of town (usually a productive ride). It is very commutable for visitors in other parts of New England as well!

There is parking available for guests in the back where you will notice the various ‘homes’ you can stay in:

  • The Main Inn
  • 1865 House
  • The Hoxie House
  • Stonington House
  • Noank House

Paul and I were put up in The Hoxie House, a very cozy room reserved for adults only. Each room has its own gas fireplace, private bath with a jacuzzi-style tub πŸ›€, and a great view of Mystic River. The rooms are so cozy and are the perfect spot to celebrate a weekend away with your love.

Noank House and Stonington House are perfect for those of you traveling with family or groups of friends, 1865 House is very cool if you like a historic touch (check out the decor!), and The Main Inn is good for just about any individual, couple, or group.

The lobby at The Whaler’s Inn has a cute shop where you can pick up items you might need or want to take back home with you; many of which showcase the town. It is also comfortably furnished so you can get some work done or lounge and is equipped with a coffee, hot cocoa, and tea beverage bar (plus, fresh cookies). πŸͺ

The Whaler’s Inn is perfect for a weekend getaway.

As expected our room came with a stack of books, The Whaler’s Inn coffee mugs, and a coffee machine. β˜• Naturally, I had to make a phone call from the classic phone on the desk and get some photo-editing done. Paul and I talked about how we would love to have a master bedroom like the one we were staying in, fireplace and all.

This year we were greeted with better weather (it was pouring on our last visit) which gave us the chance to walk around and really experience the area. There are a bunch of great places to grab a bite, including at Grass + Bone where we got to experience as part of our stay.
