Office Chic + The Sak

Business attire doesn’t have to be boring. Changing it up to add feminine flare can make your day more fun and allows you to feel more confident! These outfits that I’ve put together are comfortable and figure-flattering. Many stores have petite departments where I find myself inclined to shop. Skirts and dresses are my go-to for the average day at work (unless it’s super cold then I throw on pants). Feeling beautiful makes your day better 100% of the time, take my word for it. Today I am featuring three styles that I can’t help but share with you including both bold and neutral colors.

As a student and style blogger I have learned how to dress-down (aka super comfy for class) and dress-up – obviously my favorite. Being able to put on and outfit that you feel comfortable working in all day is key! I typically go for stretchy materials that don’t wrinkle or stretch out, heels I can walk around in for 8+ hours, and a few key jewelry pieces to accentuate the outfits design. I always wear a watch with one or two simple bangles and a necklace with dainty earrings.

Look #1

Dress: Homeyee Fashion (here) | Watch: Kyboe (here) | Laptop Bag: Vera Bradley (here) |
Shoes: Christian Siriano | Phone Case: Kate Spade (here) | Lipstick: Milani Rose Femme (here)

This black dress fits perfectly! I got it on Amazon where it is available for only $30. The fabric stayed fit all day without wrinkling and was surprisingly resistant to the fluff I find rubbing off my jacket. You know what this means… no lint brush required. It comes with a thin red belt that is just enough to break up the black without being too much color. My favorite part, of course, is the polka dot sleeves color. These accents give the dress life and make you feel like having a great day… polka dots have a way of bringing up your mood 🙂 The belt was a bit large so I poked an extra hole in so it would fit right. I suggest doing this with waist belts as they are often too big.

This laptop bag is the best bag for work. it is big enough to fit my laptop, iPad, cell phone charger, extra lip-gloss, a handful of snacks for midday nibbling, and a file to bring any paperwork home in. The material is easy to wash and stretches to make its contents fit like a glove. Plus it is lightweight for carrying on and off of the train and around the office. It is made by Vera Bradley so you know it has a whimsical pattern inside. I am much more simple than many of the Vera Bradley designs (especially for work) so this black bag was the way to go. It is also available in navy blue, burgundy, and a few other colors which are currently on sale through their website which I have tagged in the banner at the end of this post! The dress has such a fun collar that I went without a necklace and opted for my new Black Reflector KYBOE watch, diamond studs, and a variety of silver rings. The shoes are from the Christian Siriano summer collection. They have a short heel (about 2″) and straps which make them perfect for walking/strutting around the city. I love how these have white accents to pick up both colors in the dress.

Look #2

Jacket: H&M (here) | Skirt: Red Hanger (here) | Watch: Kyboe (here) | Purse: The Sak (here) |
Shoes: Dex Flex| Phone Case: Kate Spade (here) | Lipstick: Milani Matte Naked (here)

This outfit is much more neutral than the first. It is based on a series of brown tones (mainly beige). This suit jacket from H&M is sold out now, but it is so perfect with a fitted pair of suitpants or a pencil skirt like I have on here. It is hard to see from far away but in person the jacket has a mix of checks and lines on it that give it extra detail. The jacket falls perfectly above the hips and just to the wrist. This is one is didn’t need to have tailored! The white dress shirt is a staple in my wardrobe (I have multiple). This particular button-up is from Express and fits amazing. I can’t even express how difficult it is to find a winning white button-up (argh) but this is the one. I wish they still had this style and I would stock up! The skirt matches the check in the jacket and fits great. It flatters the curves and has a small slit in the back for design purposes. It goes up to the waist making it perfect for wearing with blazers and jackets.

Accessorizing a simple outfit like this is easy. I switch it up every once in a while, but I like to stay classy. With this look I wore my Gold Reflector KYBOE watch with gold rings, pearl stud earrings, and a pearl necklace from Macy’s. The pearls are my favorite for work attire. I am wearing my favorite neutral lipstick, Matte Naked by Milani Cosmetics which is available at pretty much every CVS/Walgreens around. It is affordable, moisturizing and stays on all day! These shoes have insoles that make them feel like slippers… no, I am not kidding. I could wear these all day and my feet wouldn’t get tired. The wing-tip is a classic style so when I saw this take on them I knew they were an addition to my closet. They have brown, purple, and navy accent colors.

About my bag… I received this bag courtesy of The Sak. I LOVE IT. The material is soft yet durable with beautiful details on the sides and the interior. The Tahoe Hobo is big enough to fit a portfolio, laptop and/or your daily essentials. The Sak has bags in all different colors and sizes! Check out their bags at the following link: http://bit.ly/2ihKxfQ I love to carry this bag around. The mocha paisley is my personal favorite color because it is the best for everyday wear and matches pretty much anything. Their new arrivals including the Tahoe Hobo are gorgeous!

Look #3

Jacket: Eorish (here) | Pearls: Macy’s (here) | Shoes: Refresh

Heading outside? This jacket is the best! It is from Amazon with a classic plaid print inside of the sleeves. The material is light which makes it perfect as an overcoat. If it’s cold I do recommend wearing a sweater or liner underneath. It falls just right around my thighs and doesn’t completely cover my over-the-knee boots that I’m obsessed with. The hat, in a matching print to the jacket, is soft and warm for cool winter days. I wear a hat almost every day and love this one because you can still wear it inside!
