Florida Dining Spotlight: La Corte Bistro 🍝

Upon arriving at La Corte Bistro in Cape Coral, FL you immediately feel the pleasant atmosphere. The architecture and decor is absolutely breathtaking and the owners Sabrina, Michael, Marco, and Traude are very hands-on with their service . The ‘Terrace’ and ‘Courtyard’ are complete with an array of wonderful detail. It definitely struck a chord with Paul and I as we’ve never dined anywhere quite like it!

To the left is a New York City fine dining style seating area which is very clean, white, and classic. The artwork inside is very unique and the vibe in here is much more formal. There are three unique private rooms which can be reserved for special occasions and are popular with those familiar with the restaurant. There is plenty of seating for both small and large parties.

The the right is a New Orleans-style bar room with more casual table settings and simplistic decor. On this side you’ll also see the kitchen and Sabrina preparing the gorgeous desserts offered at the establishment. All of the dining areas offer the same food & beverage menu which allows you to pick how you’re feeling and in what setting you’re most inclined to dine.

We placed an order for our drinks from their wine list and, with this, they deliver fresh bread paired alongside a very tasty tapenade. Paul and I, being from New England, love our seafood and were delighted to see Tuna Tartare (with a twist) on the menu 🐟 It had a kick! We both thoroughly enjoyed it but it’s certainly for the lovers of spice. The chef, Nick James, prepared an incredible scallop plate for us with fennel, onion, and a crostini. It was easily one of the largest, most tasty scallops I’ve ever had!

After placing our entree orders they brought a prepared antipasto/charcuterie board over to our table which was arranged with prosciutto, salami, cheeses, heirloom tomatoes, and golden beets. It was the perfect serving for 2-4 people. This, naturally, was a perfect pairing with our wine order (Paul the Cabernet, Me the Malbec). You can’t go wrong with wine and cheese 🍷

The pasta bolognese sauce is out of this world! Hands down the best bolognese I’ve ever eaten and it’s one of my go-to’s at Italian restaurants. Paul ordered the Pompano special which (below) had olives and other vegetables. It was this first time he tried this type of fish before and he said it was very good. All of the meals were spaced out to a T and the waitstaff was very attentive.

Oh… the dessert. If you have a sweet tooth, La Corte has you covered. They had quite the arrangement of desserts including 2 chocolate cakes, cheesecake, key lime pie, 3 varieties of tiramisu, sorbet, and others. We ordered a few hot brewed coffees, a chocolate tiered cake, and the pomegranate sorbet which was served in a lemon 🍋

The two owners we met were the sweetest and came over to explain their ideas for the restaurant, their backgrounds, and some of their customers favorites as well. I can imagine the two we didn’t get to meet, Marco and Traude, are just as wonderful (maybe on our next go-around). We couldn’t have been happier with our experience here and will absolutely be recommending to family and friends. For those from or traveling to the area this is your #1 spot in Cape Coral for special occasions and romantic evenings together.
