A Visit to Woodchuck Cider House in Middlebury, VT 🍎

This post was created in partnership with Woodchuck Hard Cider.

After trying the Woodchuck Rose and Pearsecco last month, I knew I had to visit their cider house in Middlebury, VT. I hadn’t visited Vermont since I was a kid and had been itching to for so long! What better time of year than the infamous leaf-peeping season πŸ˜‚

The drive from Boston took just about 3.5 hours and was incredibly scenic. There was little to no traffic andΒ lotsΒ of nature. You pass by the gorgeous fall trees, wildlife (we saw a baby deer!), rivers, and mountain views. Honestly, the ride there was so peaceful you hardly noticed the time go by.

Once we arrived, Zach had us sit around the bar to try flights of cider. They have way more flavors than even I realized before we got there! The ones I tried were Cucumber Mint, Spiced Apple, Granny Smith, Amber, and Pear. Our group favorite was hands-down theΒ Spiced Apple. It was so good!

After going through the tasting, Zach brought us into the facility for a tour. He was super informative and clearly passionate about the brand. I knew nothing about how it was made until his detailed walk-through. The apples they use come from right down the road and go through a very detailed purification process.

I love to learn new things so this was such a fun trip for me! Whenever I go on vacation I try to find experiences that I can take new knowledge from. There are many companies based in Vermont you can tour, taste, and learn from. If I could do it over again I would stay the night and spend more time bouncing around the Green Mountain state.

There is no doubt I am a cider girl and Woodchuck is my personal favorite. I came home with a case of traditional flavors I plan on breaking out for Thanksgiving. Don’t worry, I got a few 6-packs for the house too!

Have you been to a cider house before? I want to hear about your experience!

  1. This looks like such a fun experience! We don’t really make a lot of cider here in Scotland (it’s mainly whisky!) but I can imagine spending time in Vermont in the fall would be amazing. Glad you enjoyed the drinks so much!
