Lucy at Bardessono | Where to Eat in Napa Valley

As you pull off the road and down into Bardessono, a valet kindly greets you at your car door. The exterior is rustic chic with unique artwork scattered throughout the gardens.

The sign for Lucy is to your left. You can head through the front doors to check in for your reservation where you find an immediate change in ambience. It is very peaceful – seriously, I felt like I was at the spa… and we haven’t even mentioned the impeccable bathrooms.

The Dining Experience

We opted to dine outside as the weather was gorgeous. Coming from Boston, we took any chance to stay outside in the sun! The outdoor dining area was beautiful. With fountains, statues, and just the right number of tables, Lucy at Bardessono was looking sharp.

This was our first true dinner experience in Napa and we were loving every minute of it. When we first arrived to Bardessono it was still very bright and when we left the sun had fully set. This gave me the opportunity to take a mix of day and night photos for you! See below:

Our waitress, Gianna, visited straight away to take our drink order and offer a special bite from the chef. All of the restaurant staff members were very polite and thoughtful when asked questions about the menu and location. Gianna, in particular, was incredible! She deserves major points in the service department for managing all of her tables with ease.

I asked the team which dishes were the most popular and which were newer on the menu so I could feature a mix. Based on responses, it sounded to me like everything was well-received. We put in orders for a variety of starter dishes including their freshly baked bread and tapenade (so good), dungeness crab & citrus, fresh ceviche, and baby beet salad.

The Entrees

As for dinner… YUM. Paul and I decided to start with their glossed about gnocchi sharing plate. The gnocchi with Italian tartufata and kale pesto was the best I have ever had. It really did melt in your mouth. It was so good that I really don’t know how any other gnocchi will compare!

For the entrees I ordered their halibut special and Paul picked out the grass fed filet of beef. Both were outstanding! Not only were they packed with flavor but the plating was impeccable. When the chef came out and introduced himself I couldn’t gush over the meal enough.
