Florida Hotel Spotlight: Hollywood Beach Marriott

Hollywood Beach Marriott

2501 North Ocean Drive, Hollywood, Florida

Full disclosure… Marriott is and has been my hotel of choice no matter where I’m staying. I’ve rarely had negative experiences at their locations so when Hollywood Beach Marriott invited us in to review I was excited! Hollywood, Florida is a new area for me to explore and it’s only 20 minutes from Fort Lauderdale (perfect for nightlife). We stayed overnight on a Saturday which gave us Saturday and Sunday AM to experience all the hotel had to offer it’s guests 🌴

Hollywood Beach Marriott is right on the beach which, for me, is a must when traveling to Florida. ‘The Sunshine State’ wouldn’t be the same without experiencing those gorgeous Florida beaches! With the Atlantic Ocean rolling on the sand and cool breeze blowing by, this picturesque location was certainly an eye-pleaser. If you’re looking to lounge on the beach or by the pool during your vacation, they have both. The hotel has 11 floors, 229 rooms, and wi-fi 💻 free in the lobby and $20/night in-room.

The check-in time is 4:00PM and check-out is 11:00AM which gives you just enough time to enjoy their breakfast buffet 🍳 This is complimentary with select room packages or costs between $15 and $19 depending on what you want. Obvi another delicious choice is to order room service and enjoy that breakfast IN BED (sign me up). When we got there we lounged for a bit in the pretty lobby which is adorned with beachy artwork and tropical shades.

Let’s talk about rooms… our room really nice! It was perfect for two people. Some of the rooms overlook the beach and others the side views of the hotel. Ours was in the corner of the hotel overlooking beach on one side and the street by the entrance on the other. It had two separate balconies that you could lounge on. I’m obsessed with this giant fish pillow for a beach house (WANT) and the simple decor. The room was spotless and very open so you had plenty of space to leave your things.

The balconies off of the rooms are a perfect spot where you can enjoy your morning coffee (you know I did) ☕ I love when hotels have these available for their guests. It ends up becoming a critical part of the experience. The coffee maker was hidden underneath the TV along with creamer, sugar, and the other essentials for coffee lovers… I actually drink mine black because I love the taste! The machines are easy to work and don’t take long to heat up/cool down between cups. In addition to coffee the room came with two waters.

The best options for lunch, dinner, and drinks are Latitudes Restaurant and Latitudes Tiki Bar which are right off the boardwalk! We went in for lunch on Saturday afternoon and loved the firecracker shrimp. I also ordered ‘The Blackbird’ which was a fruity drink that is a definite yes if you like blackberries and rum. It was pretty casual and laid back inside so coming from the beach is no problem.

If you’re itching to leave the hotel, you can take a water taxi to Ft. Lauderdale or Miami for $28pp before 5:00PM or $18pp after! Kids are only $14pp at all times. This form of transport gets you those gorgeous water views. Staying in Hollywood? It’s only $1.00pp to take the Hollywood Trolley downtown where there is shopping, dining, and other entertainment.

Overall this is a great hotel to stay at if you’re visiting Hollywood or it’s neighboring cities. It is so close to a lot of the areas attractions and I loved the boardwalk you could walk along behind the hotel. Hollywood Beach is exactly what visitors from out of state often look for (or picture) when visiting Florida. We got caught in a very windy day but we loved every minute of it!
